Army deployed in Islamabad
Pakistan Army troops have officially assumed security responsibilities in Islamabad under Article 245 of the Constitution.
The Ministry of Interior issued directives for the military’s deployment to ensure public safety and maintain law and order, according to sources.
The deployment process in Islamabad and its surrounding areas has been completed. Army personnel have begun patrolling the region to protect citizens and prevent any disturbances, sources added.

Authorities have highlighted that no individual or group will be allowed to disrupt peace and stability in the capital. The deployment aims to safeguard the public and reinforce security across the city, ensuring any potential threats are swiftly neutralized.

In addition to the deployment of military forces in Islamabad and surrounding areas, security sources confirm that military troops from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have also been dispatched to counter extremist elements.
This move is part of a broader security effort aimed at ensuring public safety and securing the upcoming SCO summit.
Moreover, security sources highlight that no one will be allowed to incite unrest, as the authorities remain focused on safeguarding the lives and property of the citizens. With the extremists surrounded from both sides, the situation is under tight control, according to official sources.
These security measures are being implemented to ensure the protection and well-being of the general public, security officials confirmed.
D-Chowk lights turned off, Mohsin Naqvi leads key meeting
Protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists continue at D-Chowk, prompting the administration to turn off the lights in the area. The lights along Jinnah Avenue, adjacent to D-Chowk, have also been switched off.
In response to the unfolding situation, police, the Elite Force, and the Frontier Corps are deployed in and around D-Chowk and Jinnah Avenue.
Simultaneously, an important meeting is underway, chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who has summoned police officers to review the situation. Present at the meeting are the Inspector General of Islamabad, the Deputy Inspector General of Operations, and other officials.

Lahore police have finalised the security plan for PTI’s protest call at Minar-e-Pakistan, tomorrow.
As per details fifteen thousand police personnel will be present at the entry and exit points of Lahore, and officers from Operations, Investigation, Dolphin Force, and other units will also be deployed.
200 PTI workers arrested
The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad has stated that so far, more than 200 workers have been arrested and that demonstrators will be dealt with firmly.
Aleema Khan arrested at D-Chowk

Rawalpindi Traffic Police have issued a travel advisory regarding road closures in Rawalpindi ahead of the PTI protest at D-Chowk, Islamabad, today.
The closed roads include Faizabad, Murree Road, and Faiz-e-Islam, along with Stadium Road and Double Road.
Additionally, the following key routes in Rawalpindi are affected: Chandni Chowk, C Block, DAV College Chowk, Marir Chowk, Haider Road, Khanna Pul, Sahi Chowk, Naz Cinema, Kohati Bazaar Mor, Liaquat Bagh, T Chowk, Khayaban Sir Syed Road, Carriage Factory, 26 Number Chungi, and Chairing Cross with Dhaman Syedan.
