MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Mushtaq Khan, known for his roles in Welcome and Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, was allegedly kidnapped after being invited to an event in Meerut.

His business partner, Shivam Yadav, revealed details of the shocking incident, which reportedly involved a ransom demand of INR10 millions for Khan’s release.

According to reports from India Today and Business Standard, Khan was tortured for 12 hours by the kidnappers, who also withdrew INR2 lakh from his and his son’s bank accounts. Shivam further stated that after the kidnap, the Welcome actor and his family were deeply shaken but determined to file an FIR. An official report was filed in Bijnor, with proof of flight tickets, bank transactions, and CCTV footage. Khan even recognised the neighborhood and the house where he was held.

Strange Coincidence

This alleged abduction follows a similar claim by comedian Sunil Pal, who also reported being kidnapped in Haridwar and demanded a ransom. Actor Rajesh Puri shared his own near-kidnapping experience in September, though he managed to escape. This series of incidents has raised concerns about the safety of celebrities.

Mushtaq Khan, who is also known for his recent appearance in the blockbuster Stree 2, is now reportedly recovering from the traumatic experience and is hopeful that the police will soon apprehend the culprits.
