Stree 2 teasers to be out this week

In an exciting development for Bollywood fans, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has approved two teasers for the much-anticipated Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer, Stree 2. These teasers are set to be showcased in cinemas this Friday, June 14.

The first teaser runs for 1 minute and 23 seconds, while the second is slightly shorter at 1 minute and 6 seconds. Both teasers have been granted a U/A certificate, indicating suitability for viewers above the age of 12 under parental guidance.

The release of these teasers coincides with the success of Munjya, another film in the Maddock Supernatural Universe, which includes Stree (2018) and Bhediya (2022). Munjya exceeded expectations, earning over Rs. 20 crores in its opening weekend, thereby boosting anticipation for Stree 2.

The makers of Stree 2 plan to launch one of the teasers exclusively in cinemas screening Munjya. This unique strategy aims to capitalize on the current buzz surrounding the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Despite the film’s release being nearly two and a half months away, this early teaser release will provide fans a glimpse of what to expect from the sequel.

The original Stree, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, was a major hit, collecting Rs. 129.90 crores at the domestic box office and marking the beginning of the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Bhediya featured Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, while Munjya starred Sharvari and Abhay Verma. Notably, Varun Dhawan made a cameo in Munjya, and Rajkummar Rao appeared in Bhediya.

Stree 2 sees the return of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, joined by Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film is slated for release in cinemas on August 30.
