WEB DESK: Netflix’s global phenomenon, Squid Game, made a triumphant return in December with a star-studded cast and an action-packed season that has captivated audiences worldwide. Among the gripping scenes and high-stakes drama, a real-life injury on set added an unexpected layer of intensity to the production.

Korean actor Im Siwan, the player P333, had a sit-down with StarNews to talk about his character and the challenges he went through while filming. Player 333 is a fake crypto influencer, who becomes ruined when bankruptcy strikes him and others, including rapper Thanos, who is depicted by the Korean singer T.O.P (Choi Seung Hyun).

One of the craziest scenes of this season comes during a bathroom brawl involving Player 333 and Thanos. The fierce fight turns tragic when Player 333 stabs Thanos with a fork, thus showing the style of the show. The actors were quite busy at an action school behind the scenes for this particular authentic action. All of that trained preparation came with a price, though.

Im narrated the incident in the interview. “When you shoot a particular action scene that is the greatest moment for an actor “shoot”. Only during this moment does he put everything into the performance” Thus, both of us were ensorcelled in that moment.

The actor added that the two became so engrossed in the act that at one point they even went airborne during the scene. “In the process, (Choi) Seung Hyun Hyung fractured his rib. Honestly, it was his heroic effort through injury,” said Im.
