In a recent interview, 47-year-old Shakira said that the breakup caused emotional turmoil and had a significant impact on her.
In addition, she mentioned that she is now in the process of healing her wounds. The breakup between the two was widely publicized.

Now, two years later, in an interview with an American magazine, the Grammy-winning singer described the end of her romance with Gerard as a dark period in her life.
She stated that the pain she felt was probably the most bitter experience of her entire life. She felt as if someone had wounded her very being and she truly felt that pain.
It is worth noting that Shakira and Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué had been together since 2010, a relationship that lasted over a decade, ending in 2022.
