KARACHI: Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has advised parents to keep their children away from TikTok and other social media platforms.

While speaking at an Urdu conference at the Karachi Arts Council, Afridi said that parents should closely monitor their children due to the surrounding environment.

He went on to say that children between the ages of 16 and 20 are at a very dangerous stage, and during this time, parents should not allow them to use social media.

The star cricketer, while giving an example from his own life, said that he did not allow his daughter to keep a personal mobile phone until their Nikkah.

Shahid Afridi’s eldest daughter, Aqsa Afridi, is married to Naseer Nasir, and Ansha Afridi is married to Shaheen Shah Afridi.

During the same conference, the former captain also shared his thoughts on the recent deadlock between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over the Champions Trophy venue issue.

Afridi favoured Pakistan’s stance of a fusion model, adding that if India does not come to Pakistan, we should not go there either.
