WEB DESK: Telugu actor Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday in a case related to the death of a 35-year-old woman during the premiere of his movie ‘Pushpa 2.’
The incident occurred when Allu Arjun went to a theatre in Hyderabad on December 4th to see a special screening of his newly released movie.
The actor came to the screening without informing the security or the theatre management, which caused chaos and resulted in a stampede.
The deceased, Revathi, lost her life, while her nine-year-old son sustained injuries and is in critical condition. Variety has reported.
Arjun has announced a compensation of $29,480 for the deceased’s family and to cover the medical expenses of the injured child.
The movie has shattered box office records by amassing approximately INR257 crore worldwide, which is equivalent to $31 million, on the opening day.
The huge box-office number has set a new record for the largest global debut for an Indian film.
