Pakistani actress, Mehwish Hayat, in an old interview, hinted at joining politics because of Imran Khan.
Mehwish said that she got interested in the politics lately and she wants to do work for Pakistan.
Explaining how she has been inspired by the politics of Imran Khan led- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), Mehwish Hayat shared, “I’m inspired by their politics because they’ve brought about good changes and a shift in societal thinking.”
What did Mehwish Hayat say about Imran Khan?
“Imran Khan was a cricketer so if a cricketer can become prime minister then surely an actress can also become one as well”, she added.
When questioned over whether she is interested in politically challenging Imran Khan and becoming the country’s next PM, she answered, “I don’t want to challenge him but someone is bound to take his place later on and I can also become a contender for the prime minister’s position.”
Hayat, who has solidified her position in the entertainment industry, is now looking to broaden her horizons by opting for a rather different career path. However, it is not clear when is she planning to join politics.
Other than Mehwish, Hamza Ali Abbasi was very active when PTI won the 2018 elections.
Back then, he was elected as the cultural secretary of the party.
