Actress Mehreen Raheel has spoken about the challenges of balancing motherhood and career. Appearing on Ahmad Ali Butt’s podcast, she shared how stepping back from work helped her focus on raising her children.
“My daughter is on the spectrum, and I didn’t feel comfortable leaving her with an attendant,” she said. Mehreen explained that she returned to work only when her daughter became more independent.
Starting her career at 12, Mehreen said she chose to slow down to enjoy motherhood. “Being a mother is the most wonderful thing. I wanted to cherish each moment and raise my children with care,” she added.

Mehreen also discussed global challenges and their impact on Pakistan. She called for self-respect and unity during difficult times.
On education, the actress criticised the system, saying, “It has become a money-making industry. Parents must act as helicopter parents because no one else ensures children’s progress.”
Mehreen Raheel voiced concerns over group-based systems in schools, saying they create unnecessary fear among students and parents.
