Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane has expressed her willingness to return for her Bollywood debut ‘Sanam Teri Kasam 2’.
The 2016 romantic drama, which initially struggled at the box office, has shattered records within just a week of its re-release in India. The re-release and subsequent success coincided with Hocane’s marriage to Ameer Gilani.
When asked about the sequel of the movie during an interview, the Pakistani actress said that she would love to star in the sequel.
“The producers deserve the success the film is now getting and the numbers that now are pouring in. I hope that the second part is more successful with or without me,” said Mawra Hocane. “If possible, I would also love to. But if not, there are no regrets.”
Mawra Hocane about her husband
When asked about the re-release’s unprecedented success, Hocane credited her husband for her stroke of good luck.
“To be honest, if the film waited nine years to do these numbers, then it’s my husband bringing in the luck because the only thing that has changed is that. The film was always there. All the work was there. But I truly, truly feel it’s the marital luck.”
Indian filmmaking duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru confirmed to release ‘Sanam Teri Kasam 2’ on Valentine’s Day 2026.
However, they did not reveal whether the original stars including Mawra Hocane and Harshvardhan Rane would return for the sequel.
