WEBDESK: Famous Pakistani actor Mansha Pasha recently responded to criticism of celebrities for adopting Indian culture and wearing revealing outfits that deviate from Pakistan’s traditionally modest values at Yashma Gill’s sister Aroob Gill’s wedding.
Mansha and other celebrities shared pictures from the wedding, which sparked mixed reactions.
One Instagram user, who mentioned being raised in the US, expressed disappointment, saying, “I wish we would keep our religion and culture and not copy India.”
In response, Mansha addressed the criticism, saying that culture and fashion are constantly evolving.
“I think no country stays the same. Culture evolves and is influenced not by neighbors but by the world at large, including fashion—it’s global,” she wrote.
She added that while she respected the critic’s opinion, it is unfair to expect a culture to remain static.
Mansha also shared old clippings from Pakistani magazines on her Instagram story, showcasing bold fashion choices from the past.
Meanwhile, famous Pakistani actress Hina Khawaja Bayat also faced backlash after commenting on viral dance videos from the wedding. However, Hina later clarified that her comments were taken out of context and denied speaking specifically about Hania Aamir or Yashma Gill.
