Pakistani actress, Mahira Khan has revealed that she often goes out in public wearing a burqa.
Speaking at the 17th World Urdu Conference held at the Arts Council Karachi, she revealed an interesting story about her shopping adventures in the markets of Karachi and Lahore.
The superstar said she was talking to her manager that “you guys don’t take me to the lighthouse, etc, I have heard that you can buy very good items from such markets”.
Mahira said that she asked them to take her to a market in a burqa.
Continuing her story, the film actor highlighted the problem she has faced once or twice in the markets while covered from head-to-toe in a burqa. She said but people “recognise me by my voice and it is impossible for me to remain silent as it will not be fun to shop.”
She added that people recognise her by her voice and ask her if she is Mahira Khan to which she denies and says “she is not Mahira”.
Earlier this year, the actress took fans by surprise with a recent outing in Bahawalpur, Punjab. Clad in a burqa, the Mahira was spotted strolling through the city’s markets and riding a rickshaw with friends.
Late, the actress herself had shared images of her visit to Bahawalpur on Instagram.
Mahira Khan’s upcoming movies
According to news, Mahira Khan is collaborating with Humayun Saeed on the big screen. Fans have been looking forward to this pairing since their last film together, Bin Roye (2015).
Khan will also star in Pakistan’s first-ever Netflix Original, Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo, a drama series featuring other big stars from Pakistan, including Fawad Khan.
