PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has launched programmes to create employment opportunities, build skills, and enhance infrastructure. A budget of Rs 11.5 billion has been set aside to train 60,000 young people for free. Additionally, 25,000 internships will be offered.
For rural and merged districts, 42,000 individuals will receive grants of up to Rs80,000. So far, 19,000 men and women are participating in the first phase, with 806 people already trained and 312 grant applications submitted.

KP Housing loans and renewable energy
Earlier this month, KP govt announced interest-free loans of up to Rs1.5 million for home construction or renovation. The Rs4 billion Ehsaas Apna Ghar scheme, run with the KP Housing Department and the Bank of Khyber, offers seven-year repayment plans to support low-income families.
In healthcare, the KP Human Capital Investment Programme (KP-HCIP) will solarise 195 health facilities in four districts: Peshawar, Nowshera, Swabi, and Haripur. The Rs23 billion project includes solar panels for 151 basic health units, 25 rural centers, and hospitals across Categories C and D.
