The Central Bank of India has seized the Shahjahanpur property of Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav due to non-repayment of a significant loan.
Yadav, a renowned actor in Indian cinema, had borrowed INR 3 crore from the bank’s Mumbai branch in the Bandra Kurla Complex, with the loan secured by properties belonging to his father, Naurang Yadav.
Moreover, the debt, originally INR 3 crore, surged to INR 11 crore because of accrued interest and penalties following Yadav’s failure to make payments on time. On August 8, a team from the bank’s Mumbai branch went to Shahjahanpur and sealed the property, intensifying efforts to recover the outstanding debt.

Hailing from Shahjahanpur, the 53-year-old actor is celebrated for his comic roles in more than 150 films in various languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, and Bengali. His career highlights include a standout performance in “Bhool Bhulaiyaa.” However, Yadav has previously faced financial issues.
This isn’t Yadav’s first legal challenge over unpaid loans. He was previously imprisoned after defaulting on a loan for his directorial project, “Ata Pata Lapata.” Produced by his wife, Radha Yadav, the film’s poor box office performance led to substantial financial losses.
The recent property seizure follows a similar trajectory, with the loan taken under the production company, Shri Naurang Godavari Entertainment Limited. The film in question, featuring Rajpal Yadav, the late Om Puri, and local Shahjahanpur talent, did not meet expected success.
