As every year, on the occasion of Independence Day, civil awards have been announced for Pakistanis from various walks of life. The Government of Pakistan announces these awards on August 14, and they are presented the following year on March 23.
The following artists from the showbiz industry have been nominated for the Pride of Performance award this year.
Fariha Pervez
This singer hails from an artistic family and has been associated with the music industry for the past three decades. Her songs “Dil Hua Bokata” and “Ve Mein Tere Lar Lagi” are still enjoyed today, decades after their release.
Moreover, she is known for her melodious voice and beautiful rendition of ghazals. Fariha Pervez will be honored with the Pride of Performance award in 2025.

Hamid Rana
Who can forget the two famous characters of “Sona Chandi”? His innocence and simple acting are still etched in people’s hearts. Among these is the actor and comedian from PTV’s golden era, Hamid Rana, known as Sona from “Sona Chandi.” After years of entertaining the public, he has finally been awarded this accolade in recognition of his talents.
Sheeba Arshad
Sheeba Arshad also played the character of Chandi in the PTV classic “Sona Chandi,” and her role is considered a cult classic. She will also receive the Pride of Performance award next year.
Sana Safinaz
Renowned designers Sana Hashwani and Safinaz Muneer will be awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz next year for their excellent work in fashion.
