WEBDESK: Pakistani actress Hania Aamir responded to the criticism after her meet-and-greet event in Dallas, USA, ended abruptly, leaving fans upset.
Reports suggested that Hania left the venue just 35 minutes into the event, which had already been delayed due to the late arrival of the stars.
Hania through an Instagram story clarifies the situation.
In her statement, the Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum said that “It’s no secret that I love and respect my fans more than words can describe. Everyone who came to meet us at the Dallas event, I love you to bits and it’s unfortunate that it had to end so abruptly.”
Hania recounted how the organiser followed them backstage, shouted insults, and even dismissed the agreed-upon security protocols. “No position or authority gives anyone the right to disrespect others,” she stated, adding, “Just because women work in male-dominated fields doesn’t mean they should tolerate such behaviour.”
The actress also criticised some media outlets for reporting on the incident without knowing the full story. She urged journalists to maintain integrity and avoid making baseless accusations against female artists.
Apologising to her fans, Hania expressed her disappointment over the way events unfolded. “I love every single one of you and am truly sorry for how things turned out,” she said.
Despite the controversy, Hania received overwhelming support from fellow celebrities, including Maya Ali, Yashma Gill, Nabeel Qureshi, and Hira Khan, who re-shared her statement and posted encouraging messages.
Meanwhile, Fahad Mustafa, who was also present at the event, tried to entertain fans after Hania left but eventually exited the stage. Social media remains divided on the incident, with some fans questioning the professionalism of the stars, while others defended Hania, believing she would never leave without a valid reason.
The incident highlights the challenges artists face and the importance of treating everyone with respect and professionalism.
