Pakistani veteran actor Firdous Jamal has recently made harsh remarks about superstar Mahira Khan, labelling her an “old woman.”

During an interview, Firdous was asked about his previous remarks, where he had suggested that Mahira, one of Pakistan’s top actresses, should no longer be cast as a heroine due to her age.

The host reminded him of Mahira’s exceptional performance in the blockbuster film The Legend of Maula Jatt and asked if his opinion had changed. However, Firdous Jamal remained firm, stating, “I still stand by my statement. I simply pointed out the truth about her age—she is an old woman.

When the host mentioned that 90 percent of Pakistanis consider Mahira Khan beautiful, Firdous responded, “If 90 percent of people are fools, that’s not my fault. Should I become a fool too?”

He also took aim at Pakistan’s leading actor Humayun Saeed, dismissing him as a subpar actor.

Firdous remarked, “Earning more money doesn’t make someone a good actor. If that were the case, then even a tawaif would be considered excellent.”

This isn’t the first time Firdous Jamal has made such remarks. In 2019, he similarly criticised Mahira, saying she should transition to motherly roles instead of playing heroines due to her age.
