Actor and producer Nabeel Zafar has expressed frustration over the biased nature of award shows, stressing that recognition should go to those who truly deserve it.

Appearing on Faysal Quraishi’s Pressure Buhat Hai podcast, Zafar opened up about his views on the flawed selection process.

“For me, awards hold no personal significance. But when awards go to the wrong person, it undermines the ones who truly deserve them,” said Nabeel. He highlighted the bias in the system, citing the example of prestigious awards like the Pride of Performance, where winners often feel the need to justify themselves.

‘Real recognition comes from fans’

Nabeel shared a heartfelt experience to illustrate what true recognition means. “I received a call from a child with Down syndrome who wanted to meet me. He believed the world of Bulbulay was real. Moments like these are the real awards,” Nabeel said.
