WEB DESK: Pakistani actor Asad Siddiqui has spoken out against what he calls “biased casting practices” in the entertainment industry.

He argues that casting decisions are often based on connections and appearance, rather than talent. Siddiqui made these comments recently on Ushna Shah’s talk show.

He said that people with lighter skin tones or strong personal connections often get roles.

“It undermines the importance of merit and negatively affects production quality,” he added.

Asad Siddiqui suggested implementing a stronger audition process to ensure a fairer talent selection. He also shared his plans to enter production to create more equitable opportunities for aspiring actors.
