Construction of the first house under the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar initiative will be completed in Kot Lakhpat in a matter of months, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was informed on Tuesday.

The chief minister was in Kot Lakhpat to witness the development work on houses being constructed under her government’s Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme.

During her visit to Kot Lakhpat, Maryam Nawaz oversaw the construction of a house belonging to Sobia Munir. The house owner received her cheque from the government earlier this month.

Sobia Munir is a single mother of three children. She owns a decoration business. Her daughter told Chief Minister Maryam she wants to pursue her studies while helping her mother.

In response, the chief minister announced that the Punjab government would bear her education expenses.

She also witnessed the completion of walls and installation of lanterns on the three marla plot belonging to Sobia Munir, and expressed satisfaction on the progress.
