Lahore on Sunday, was ranked as the most polluted city, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 409, despite having less traffic and the closure of factories and schools, factors that typically help reduce air pollution.

An AQI of 151 to 200 is considered harmful, while 201 to 300 is extremely harmful, and an AQI above 301 is classified as dangerous.

The AQI in the Burki Road area at 593, the DHA area at 451, and the AQI in the Thokar Niaz Baig area at 416.

On the other hand, citizens in Lahore have expressed their grievances to the government regarding air pollution. They have deemed the Punjab government’s efforts insufficient to reduce smog and air pollution in the city.

According to the Meteorological Department, Lahore’s minimum temperature today could drop to 21 degrees Celsius, while the maximum could reach 33 degrees Celsius. The wind speed in the city has been recorded at 10 kilometres per hour.

Authorities concerned have decided to spray Lahore with artificial rain in order to combat worsening levels of smog in the Punjab capital.
