A Lahore sessions court extends the bail of actress Nargis’s husband, accused in an alleged domestic violence case.
The Lahore sessions court extended his bail until December 2 and directed Nargis’s husband, Inspector Majid Bashir, to cooperate with the investigation.
Inspector Majid Bashir said, “My wife is a respectable woman, and arguments occur in every household. Some people are maligning my character, and I will take legal action against them.”
The case stems from an incident in Lahore’s Defence area where Nargis was allegedly assaulted by her husband. According to police, the dispute arose over a financial disagreement. Following the altercation, Nargis visited the police station at night to report the matter.
Nargis’s brother Khurram Bhatti has accused her husband of repeatedly abusing her. He reached the scene and immediately called the police helpline (15) to report the incident.
“My sister has been assaulted by Inspector Majid Bashir. Today, he has beaten her so badly that her condition has worsened,” Khurram Bhatti claimed in his statement.
Nargis, a well-known figure in the entertainment industry, married Inspector Majid Bashir a few years ago. Following her marriage, the actress left the showbiz world, as confirmed by police sources. In recent years, she has been running a beauty salon, stepping away from the public eye.
