Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government says that PIA is a national asset, and Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is interested in buying it.
It should be noted that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government wants to buy Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) through a bid of more than Rs10 billion. In this regard, a letter has already been written by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment to the Federal Ministry of Privatisation.
It may be noted that the opening ceremony of Blue World City Consortium for the privatisation of PIA was held yesterday in Islamabad where the sole bidder bid only Rs 10 billion for 60 per cent shares of PIA.
The Federal Ministry of Privatisation had set a limit of at least Rs85 billion for the bid, while the bidder refused to increase the amount from Rs10 billion.
