KP govt decided to increase salaries by 10%

WEB DESK: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to increase the basic salaries of government employees by 10%, while a proposal to raise the pensions of retired employees by 10% has been given.

The budget for the fiscal year 25-2024 was presented in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Friday.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Minister Aftab Alam stated that total revenues are Rs. 1754 billion, while total expenditures are Rs. 1654 billion, resulting in a surplus of Rs. 100 billion in the budget.

In his budget speech, Aftab Alam mentioned, “Considering the rising inflation, the provincial government has proposed a 10% increase in the basic salaries of employees.”

The provincial finance minister stated that considering the difficulties faced by retired employees, a proposal to increase their monthly pensions by 10% has also been recommended.

He further elaborated that there is a recommendation to increase minimum wages from 32 thousand to 36 thousand.
