Khalilur Rehman Qamar, a prominent Pakistani screenwriter, was abducted and robbed on July 15.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) and a press conference held in Lahore with Punjab Police DIG Investigation Imran Kishwar, Qamar detailed the incident. He mentioned that he usually conducts business late at night due to a medical condition that requires him to avoid sunlight for five years.
Qamar explained that the meeting was scheduled for 4:40 am, but upon arriving at the location, he was ambushed by armed men who blindfolded him and took his ATM card to withdraw money.

He endured three hours of torture and threats from his captors, who also demanded ransom, which he claimed he couldn’t provide.
The police have since arrested a suspect named Amina. The caller, identifying herself as Amina Urooj, claimed to be a fan of Qamar and expressed interest in producing a TV drama with him, according to the FIR.
