Karachi is experiencing a severe heatwave with temperatures rising sharply due to a change in wind direction. The Meteorological Department reported that today’s maximum temperature reached 42 degrees Celsius, while the heat index, indicating how hot it feels, exceeded 50 degrees Celsius.
Unfortunately, the extreme heat has led to fatalities. Two unidentified bodies, suspected to have died from the heat, were brought to the hospital.

Over the past four days, Jinnah Hospital in Karachi has treated 10 people suffering from heatstroke. A partial heatwave alert has been issued for the next three days, with temperatures expected to rise above 40 degrees Celsius and the heat index potentially reaching between 48 and 50 degrees Celsius.
Authorities are advising residents to take precautions against the heat and avoid direct sunlight to protect themselves from heat-related illnesses.
