A Karachi-based police officer has been suspended after posting a TikTok video while on duty, revealing her team’s location, according to a notification by the Sindh Police issued on Wednesday.
Police Constable (PC) Maria Gill, assigned to the Gizri Police Station in District South, was immediately suspended for irresponsible behavior related to her official duties, which resulted in “negligence and dereliction of duty,” as per the notification.
In the TikTok video, PC Gill is seen at her post on Mai Kolachi Road near Bahria College. She introduces herself and mentions the heavy police presence in the area, showing several officers seated nearby. One officer is seen waving at the camera. She further invites viewers to visit her at her duty location.

The suspension order was issued by Syed Asad Raza, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police for the South Zone. The notification states that PC Gill will undergo a counseling session and will be relocated to the Police Headquarters South Zone, where she is required to attend daily roll calls and parades.
Moreover, DIG South Raza emphasised the professional standards expected from the police force, stating that “the police is a professional organization, and no one can be allowed to engage in such irresponsible acts.” A report on the incident has been requested by the senior superintendent of police.
