Karachi Court issues non-bailable warrant for Sahil Adeem in defamation case

A judicial magistrate in Karachi has issued non-bailable warrants for internet personality Sahil Adeem in connection with a defamation case.

Moreover, the arrest order follows Adeem’s failure to appear in court after being accused of making derogatory remarks about the Sindhi community in a viral video.

Judicial Magistrate Sher Muhammad (South) issued the warrants after the investigating officer submitted a final charge sheet, charging Adeem under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including promoting enmity, incitement, and defamation. Adeem is expected to be presented in court by September 24.

The case was initiated on July 12, after a complaint by Advocate Abdul Fattah, accusing Adeem of attempting to incite conflict between Sindhi and Punjabi communities. Despite directions from the Islamabad High Court, Adeem has not complied with the investigation or court appearances.

Additionally, a resolution against Adeem for allegedly derogatory remarks about women was tabled in the Sindh Assembly by PPP lawmaker Marvi Faseeh.
