Kapil Sharma is set to return to the big screen with Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, a sequel to his 2015 debut film. Directed by Anukalp Goswami and creatively supervised by Abbas-Mustan, the film will feature Sharma in a prominent comedic role. Production is slated to begin by the end of the year.
Kapil Sharma’s original film, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, directed by Abbas-Mustan, was a sleeper hit with lifetime collections of Rs 43 crore in India. The sequel, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, will see Kapil Sharma returning to his comedic roots. A source close to the project confirmed that Sharma has signed on for the sequel and is enthusiastic about resuming his role in a pure comic entertainer.
Anukalp Goswami, who co-wrote the first film, will direct the sequel, with Abbas-Mustan overseeing the creative aspects. The casting process for the female leads is underway, with plans to feature multiple actresses. The film, produced by Ratan Jain, is expected to continue the comedic tone of its predecessor, centering around Sharma’s character.

The announcement comes on the heels of the 25th anniversary of the film Baadshah (1999), starring Shah Rukh Khan, which remains a popular hit on satellite television. In light of the trend of reviving classic films with sequels—following the success of Gadar 2 (2023) and the forthcoming Border 2—Ratan Jain of Venus Records And Tapes Pvt Ltd discussed the possibility of sequels to Khan’s earlier hits.
Jain revealed that he and Khan have been discussing potential sequels, with Baazigar 2 being a priority before Baadshah 2. He noted, “We do not have a plot ready yet for Baazigar’s sequel, but we are actively discussing it. The sequel will only be made with Shah Rukh Khan and will proceed once we find the right subject and director.”
