The actress-turned-politician, now running as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s candidate for Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi Lok Sabha seat, took to her Instagram Stories to set the record straight.
Kangana’s Clarification on Instagram
Sharing a screenshot of the photo in question, Kangana wrote, “Desperate Congress officials are spreading this picture with the caption that I am partying with Gangster Abu Salem.” She clarified, “He is not Abu Salem, and this picture is from one of the film promotion event parties.”

Kangana Ranaut has been actively campaigning as the BJP candidate for Mandi. Recently, she posted a series of pictures with PM Narendra Modi, who visited Mandi on May 24 and addressed a rally. In one photo, Kangana greeted the PM and handed him a red rose. During a public meeting, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work under PM Modi’s leadership.
Kangana’s Upcoming Movie “Emergency”
Professionally, Kangana is gearing up for her next movie, “Emergency,” where she portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The movie, written by Ritesh Shah, who also penned her previous movie “Dhaakad,” features a notable cast including Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, Satish Kaushik, and Shreyas Talpade. Despite “Dhaakad” not performing well at the box office, anticipation is high for “Emergency,” though its release date has yet to be announced.
