The consumers of K-Electric will have to pay higher electricity bills due to the adjustment of Rs2.17 per unit for the month of November.
This adjustment is part of the quarterly tariff adjustment mechanism, which aims to pass on the fuel price variation to consumers.
Earlier, K-Electric announced an increase of Rs2.59 per unit for October, which was a major burden on consumers.
About K-Electric
Formerly known as Karachi Electric Supply Company Limited, the power utility is an integral part of one of the world’s most populous cities.
KE is generally viewed as an inefficient electric utility. During the summers especially, when the demand of electricity increases, KE’s performance comes under severe criticism — the government promises severe action, courts take notice, but nothing actually changes at KE.
