Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has announced a nationwide strike starting August 28, supported by the business community.
At a press conference in Quetta, he highlighted the need for internal democracy in political parties, criticizing major parties for their lack of democratic processes and internal politics.
Rehman also highlighted various national crises, including issues in Balochistan, rising inflation, and land grabbing.

He condemned the high electricity bills as “inhuman” and unaffordable, noting that even Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledges the problem.
Furthermore, Rehman asserted that Jamaat-e-Islami has been advocating for the public’s interests, particularly concerning Independent Power Producers (IPPs), without corruption.
