Pakistan suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of India in its second match during the ongoing T20 World Cup, plunging the green shirts into a precarious position in the tournament.
To secure advancement to the Super 8 stage, Pakistan must clinch victories in their upcoming matches against Canada and Ireland. Additionally, for Pakistan to progress, the current table-toppers, USA, must stumble in their remaining fixtures.
As per ICC rules, the Top Eight teams will qualify for the next edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 directly, which is set to take place in India in 2026. If Pakistan fail to advance to the super eights in this edition, they will have to play in the qualifiers to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2026.
