The Paris Olympic Games 2024 are nearing their end, and Pakistan is leading in the Olympic medal standings, thanks to Arshad Nadeem’s historic gold medal win.
Pakistan currently holds the 62nd position in the standings. In contrast, India sent a contingent of 117 athletes to Paris but only managed to win five bronze medals and one silver medal.
As a result, despite having more total medals than Pakistan, India is ranked 71st.

This is a historic moment for Pakistan, as the country has never previously won an individual Olympic gold medal—until now.
The standard method for evaluating countries’ success at the Olympic Games is based on the number of gold medals won. A nation with a single gold medal ranks higher than one with multiple silver or bronze medals.
On August 8, Nadeem set a new Olympic record with a remarkable throw of 92.7 meters on his second attempt, and concluded his sixth and final throw with a distance of 91.79 meters.
