In the final played in Bridgetown, Barbados, Indian team captain Rohit Sharma won the toss. On this occasion, Rohit Sharma stated that there were no changes made to the Indian team.
He said that both South Africa and India played good cricket throughout the tournament, and every player needs to understand their role and play accordingly. Both teams were undefeated in the World Cup up to this point and hadn’t lost a single match.

After that, Kohli and Dubey stabilized the Indian batting; however, Kohli got caught out after scoring 76 runs. India made 176 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Kohli with 76, Axar with 47, and Shivam Dubey with 27 runs were the top scorers. From South Africa’s side, Anrich Nortje and Keshav Maharaj took 2 wickets each.
Furthermore, chasing a target of 177 runs set by India, South Africa’s innings began disappointingly, losing their first two wickets at a score of 12. Quinton de Kock and Tristan Stubbs formed a 58-run partnership for the third wicket, stabilizing the team’s position. However, Tristan Stubbs got out after scoring 31 runs. Quinton de Kock got caught out by Kuldeep after scoring 39 runs, but Klaasen played an aggressive innings, scoring 52 runs off 27 balls with the help of 5 sixes and 2 fours before returning to the pavilion.
