PTI’s Secretary for Information, Sheikh Waqas Akram, confirmed that Imran Khan has endorsed the statement made by Ali Amin Gandapur regarding the revolution in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Speaking during a TV program hosted by Waseem Badami, Akram disclosed that Khan backed Gandapur’s remarks, which suggested a strong response to any provocation.

Moreover, when asked whether Imran Khan supported Gandapur’s controversial comment that “if you fire one bullet, we will fire ten,” Sheikh Waqas Akram clarified that the right to self-defense is constitutionally protected.
He highlighted that self-defense is an inherent part of the KP culture, where weapons are treated as ornaments, even in peaceful times. “People of KP are not sending their children to be shot at,” he remarked, justifying the right to self-defense as enshrined in the constitution.
In response to repeated questions from the host about whether PTI endorses firing in retaliation, Akram refrained from a direct answer but suggested that if the government mistreats KP’s youth, led by the provincial chief minister, they will respond according to their customs.
He further noted that if bullets are fired at the Pashtuns, they will not abandon their identity, recalling the sacrifices made for the country and questioning why they are now being targeted.
