WEB DESK: The Cyber Crime Cell of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has contacted the Judicial Magistrate Islamabad for an inquiry into contacting former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.

Allegations of Propaganda

According to the letter, propaganda against the state and institutions, especially the Pakistan Army, was carried out through Imran Khan’s official X (Twitter) account. Furthermore, a video posted on May 26th distorted facts through propaganda against the army to incite rebellion among officers and youth. This video also attempted to create divisions in various state institutions. The video blatantly violates the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016, necessitating an investigation. Therefore, access to Imran Khan should be granted for investigation.

Previous Propaganda Video

Earlier, Imran Khan’s official Twitter handle uploaded a propaganda video of Sheikh Mujeeb Rahman, prompting the FIA Cyber Wing to inquire. The FIA stated that Imran Khan is currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail, while his official handle was used to upload propaganda videos.

Investigation Details

The FIA Cyber Wing will discuss this matter with four individuals from PTI: Imran Khan, Barrister Gohar Khan, Omar Ayub, and Roef Hassan. The FIA team aims to determine whether Imran Khan himself tweeted the video or gave permission for it.

PTI’s Disassociation

PTI expressed its disassociation from the anti-state tweets made from Imran Khan’s Twitter accounts. According to details, Raoof Hassan stated that Imran Khan is not operating his Twitter account himself. Since Imran Khan is in jail, how could he upload videos on Twitter? Raoof Hassan claimed that Imran Khan did not know about Sheikh Mujeeb’s video.
