Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday ordered the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto (SZAB) University to retake the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) in a month.
The IHC ordered the authorities to retake the MDCAT exam after accepting the petition against the exam.
The hearing was presided by Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir og the Lahore High Court.
The students in the petition alleged that the questions of the recently conducted MDCAT exams were out of syllabus.
Advocate Qazi Adil, who was representing the students told the court that 30 questions which were included in the MDCAT were not including in the syllabus.
The court’s decision also follows a report from the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) showing that the questions on the original MDCAT exam were outside the given syllabus.
Earlier, the Sindh High Court also ordered Dow University of Health Sciences to retake the MDCAT exam within a month after the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) reported that several of the exam’s questions were not within the syllabus.This decision was made during a hearing of petitions challenging alleged irregularities in the MD CAT, which was previously conducted on September 22 by Dow University of Health Sciences.
