The Islamabad High Court issued a ruling on Thursday preventing the Punjab police from apprehending Sher Afzal Marwat of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in connection with a case filed against him in Kasur, as reported by ARY News.

Marwat asserted that the Punjab police implicated him in a case related to a public gathering in Kasur. Seeking protective bail, the Member of the National Assembly (MNA) approached the Islamabad High Court.

Justice Tariq Jahangiri presided over the PTI leader’s plea. Following initial arguments, the IHC granted Sher Afzal Marwat protective bail, requiring a surety bond of 10,000.

He was instructed to appear before the relevant court within two months. Marwat is confronting multiple legal challenges following the PTI government’s removal.

In a distinct case, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) recently prolonged the interim bail of the PTI leader. The case was heard by Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah.

Marwat, in his petition, highlighted that 23 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed against him in the province for political reasons. He requested the dismissal of these cases against him.
