ISLAMABAD: Government primary schools in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) are set to introduce a new policy aimed at easing the burden on young students by eliminating the need to carry school books between home and school. Instead, classrooms will be equipped with pigeon holes and book racks for storing books, creating a more convenient and child-friendly learning environment.

This initiative, designed to reduce the weight of school bags, aims to foster a healthier and more enjoyable educational experience for students.

Education Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani revealed in an interview with a national daily that he has been working on this policy for over a month. He assured that all necessary arrangements will be completed before Islamabad schools reopen.

Wani noted, “The decision is a welcome move for parents and students alike, and is expected to have a positive impact on the young minds.” The new policy will come into effect from August 1, with preparations already underway in all government primary schools in the capital.
