Upon his arrival in Lahore after winning gold in the javelin throw at the Paris Olympics 2024, Arshad Nadeem expressed immense pride in his achievement and dedicated the medal to the entire nation.
Speaking to the media, Nadeem said, “I am proud to have won this gold medal for Pakistan. I worked extremely hard for it, and I am grateful to the entire Pakistani nation for their prayers and support.”
Arshad Nadeem also said that the gold medal belongs to the people of Pakistan.
Federal Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, congratulated Nadeem on behalf of the nation, stating, “Arshad Nadeem has accomplished a great feat for Pakistan at the Paris Olympics, and we are all immensely proud of him.”
Former Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique echoed these sentiments, saying, “Arshad Nadeem has made 240 million Pakistanis proud.”
A massive crowd gathered at Lahore Airport to welcome the national hero, showering him with rose petals and dancing to the beat of drums. The airport resounded with chants of “Long live Arshad Nadeem” and “Long live Pakistan.”

Over 100 people from Mian Channu, including Nadeem’s family and neighbors, traveled to Lahore for the occasion. Following instructions from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, special protocol was provided to Nadeem’s family.
A ceremony was organised inside the airport to honor Arshad Nadeem, and the Punjab government has announced that he will be taken on a citywide tour in a double-decker bus.
Earlier, Nadeem received a warm send-off at Paris Airport, where attendees greeted him with applause, celebrating him as the pride of Pakistan.
In addition to the warm welcome, Arshad Nadeem will be awarded numerous prizes in recognition of his historic achievement.
