‘High level Google team’ to visit Pakistan post-Eid for tech and education collaboration

The Ministry of Federal Education has announced that a high-level team from Google will visit Pakistan to explore potential collaborations in the education and technology sectors.

According to Dawn the team, comprising top officials, will arrive immediately after Eid.

This visit follows a request from the education ministry for Google’s support in developing a digitally-enabled education system in Pakistan. Advance teams from Google have already conducted preliminary assessments.

Education Secretary Mohyuddin Wani stated that the Google team would conduct a national workshop with stakeholders to explore technology solutions for out-of-school children.

“Discussion on potential collaboration in education and technology sectors, exploring ways to tap Pakistan’s youth potential to create a digitally-enabled education system and other issues will also be discussed,” he added.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Google team to Pakistan and explore ways to leverage technology to improve education outcomes. This collaboration has the potential to transform the education landscape in Pakistan and expand access to quality education for all,” Wani said.
