Here’s when monsoon rains will begin in Pakistan

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz has predicted heavier than usual rainfall for this year’s monsoon season.

According to him, the first spell of monsoon rains is expected to begin in some regions after June 19. However, he clarified that there is no expected rain in the plains during Eid-ul-Adha.

Sarfaraz highlighted that exceptional rains are anticipated in various parts of the country this monsoon season, but precise forecasts will be available only a few days before the rains begin. Southern Sindh, including Karachi, is expected to see significant rainfall.

Karachi is predicted to experience normal temperatures this month, with highs around 35-36°C, following a prolonged period of hot and humid weather. The rest of Sindh will also have typical temperature patterns for June.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted hot and dry conditions for most of Sindh until Thursday, with temperatures ranging from a low of 28°C to a high of 37°C.
