After the federal budget for 2024-25 introduced an 18% GST, mobile phone prices have reached unprecedented levels, causing widespread concern among consumers.
The most significant price hike is seen in phones costing Rs 200,000, which are now Rs 36,000 more expensive. Phones priced at Rs 150,000 have increased by Rs 19,000, while those valued at Rs 100,000 have jumped by Rs 18,000.

Similarly, phones priced at Rs 50,000 have seen a rise of Rs 9,000. Even more affordable phones, previously costing Rs 25,000, have increased by Rs 4,000, making them unaffordable for many. This drastic rise is expected to heavily impact consumers and the mobile phone market.
