Dr. Babar, Director of Weather Forecasting, informed Samaa TV that monsoon rains have commenced in Sindh, particularly in Karachi, and are progressing towards other regions. He highlighted expectations for heavy rainfall in various areas within the next 24 hours.

He also cautioned about above-normal rainfall anticipated in July and August, raising concerns about river, canal, and urban flooding in northeastern and southeastern parts of the country, including canals and nullahs.

“There will be significant rainfall in Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, KP, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan,” Dr. Babar stated to Samaa TV, emphasizing the importance of readiness to mitigate the impacts of heavy rainfall and potential flooding.

As the monsoon advances, the Meteorological Department advises residents in vulnerable areas to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions for their safety. The expected rains are poised to bring relief from the prevailing heat and humidity, offering respite to millions nationwide.
