Has Dubai stopped visas for Pakistanis?

Rumors circulating on social media suggest that Dubai has stopped visa issuance to unmarried Pakistani men under the age of 42. These rumours have caused worry and confusion among Pakistani travelers and the community.

According to journalist Omar Quraishi, Dubai has stopped issuing visas to single Pakistani men under the age of 42. He clarified that while there hasn’t been an official announcement, he has confirmed this information with multiple reliable sources within the local travel industry.

However, a local digital media platform, ProPakistani, has refuted the claim. According to the media outlet, the viral tweet is false.

“Dubai has made no such announcement, nor has it stopped issuing visas to Pakistani nationals in recent times,” it further reported. ProPakistani further added that there is no ban on visit or work visas for single Pakistani men under the age of 42 traveling to Dubai.

It is pertinent to mention that this isn’t the first time that such rumours have surface online. Last year, there were reports that United Arab Emirates (UAE) imposed a visit visa ban on residents of several Pakistani cities.

However, these reports were denied by the Pakistan Foreign Office. The UAE Consulate General in Karachi had also dismissed these rumors as “fake news,” clarifying that there are no restrictions of this nature in place.
