Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), head Maulana Fazlur Rehman spoke about the critical situation in Islamabad during a press conference held in Multan on Friday.
He highlighted that the government expected cooperation from them without any preparation.
Moreover, discussing proposals within the parliamentary committee, Maulana Fazlur Rehman mentioned that during a meeting with Bilawal Bhutto, they had agreed to draft their suggestions collaboratively.
However, the government only provided one copy to the Pakistan People’s Party and another to his party, raising concerns about discrepancies in the constitutional amendment draft they reviewed.

He criticised the government’s reluctance to present any comprehensive draft, stating that the proposed constitutional amendment aimed solely at safeguarding the government, which lacks a majority and relies heavily on the support of JUI members.
Highlighting the backlog of 2.4 million cases in the courts, he remarked that political interests have become a significant aspect of their politics. Maulana Fazlur Rehman concluded by advocating for an end to the contentious phase with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), urging for a constructive way forward.
