According a private news channel, citing sources from the Ministry of Interior, the Pakistani government has successfully finished a trial run of a social media firewall.

The firewall effectively prevented the downloading of images, voice recordings, and videos from social media platforms such as WhatsApp.

The sources further revealed that the trial of the firewall led to a decrease in mobile signal strength and slowed down internet services.
