By WEB DESK: Pakistan’s passport office has announced significant revisions to its fee structure for fast-track passport applications, effective from May 8. The changes include increases in fees for various passport types and introduce expedited processing fees.
According to the notification, the fee for a 36-page Machine Readable (MR) passport valid for five years has risen to Rs12,500. Likewise, the fee for a 72-page passport for five years is now Rs18,500, and for a 100-page passport, it stands at Rs23,000. Additionally, fees for 10-year validity passports have also been adjusted.
Furthermore, the passport office has introduced new expedited processing fees. Fast track fees for 100, 72, and 36-page passports are set at Rs25,200, Rs32,000, and Rs16,200, respectively.

These changes are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to streamline passport issuance processes and enhance service delivery to citizens.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi recently announced the launch of 24/7 passport services in Karachi and Lahore. The initiative aims to revolutionise public access to passport facilities and address challenges in accessing essential documentation.
Minister Naqvi further underscored the importance of the initiative in his announcement on X, stressing its role in providing seamless access to passport services at any time. Starting from May 7, at least one passport office in each city will remain operational round the clock, following the outlined shifts of 8am to 4pm, 4pm to 12am, and 12am to 8am as per the directive issued by the Passport and Immigration Department.
