The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has announced a significant reward for information on 19 inmates who escaped from the Rawalakot District Jail.
The Ministry of Information in AJK has offered millions of rupees for tips leading to the capture of the escapees.
Among the escaped prisoners, six were on death row: Saqib, Usman, Faisal, Nazeer, Shameer, and Amir. For these individuals, a reward of Rs10 million each is being offered.
Furthermore, a reward of Rs5 million each is available for information on two inmates, Noman and Saqib, who were serving 25-year sentences.

An additional Rs3 million reward has been announced for information on the remaining 10 prisoners.
The Ministry has urged the public to provide any information that could help locate these prisoners, assuring that informants’ identities will remain confidential and they will be rewarded.
Earlier, seven jail staff members, including the Deputy Superintendent, were arrested and an investigation was initiated following the escape.
Furthermore, the Azad Kashmir High Court has been requested to establish a judicial commission to investigate the incident. During the escape, one inmate was injured and later died at a local hospital.
